![]() ![]() Data collection was obtained through the application of PCQ-24 and MWMS. The sample consisted of 235 workers working in the health sector, in south of Brazil. Design/methodology/ approach: it was performed a quantitative empirical study. Purpose: The psychological capital and the self-determination theory are areas related to the research of human behavior in organizationsThis study had as objective to verify if there are relations between the categories of Motivation with the dimensions of Psychological Capital. The findings indicate that, while both sub-sectors play significant roles in the MWMS, the informal recycling activities contribute more to the recycling rate of Lagos state than the formal sector. ![]() The study relies on primary field data, site visits and observations backed by secondary sources to investigate the range of informal sector activities in comparison to the formal sector. In this study, we measured and compared the recycling rates between the formal and informal sectors to determine their impacts on the recycling rates of Lagos State. In view of this, the study focuses on the roles of the formal and informal sector in municipal waste management with regards to their impacts on the recycling rate of Lagos State. However, the shortcomings of the formal waste management system are compensated by the activities of the informal sector engaged in waste collection and make significant contributions to the MWMS through material recovery and waste recycling. In most of these cities, waste collection services are grossly inadequate as less than half the population is served with regular and efficient waste services. Municipalities in metropolitan cities of developing countries often find it difficult to cope with the onerous task of providing waste services to their citizens due to financial constraints and poor infrastructure. Practical implications and suggestions for the development of future research based on self-determination theory are discussed. Lastly, amotivation was negatively related to all employee-related variables, except for continuance commitment. Controlled forms of motivation (e.g., social and material) were unrelated or negatively related to most of the variables examined, with the exception of continuance commitment (positive association). Convergent and discriminant validity indicated that intrinsic and integrated forms of autonomous motivation had a positive relationship with job satisfaction, affective and normative commitment, prosocial behavior, perceived organizational support, job autonomy, and leader-member exchange. ![]() Factorial analyses indicated that the 18-item scale has the same factor structure across the three Mediterranean languages, reflecting common cultural idiosyncrasies and influences. (2014), the purpose of this study was to create an abbreviated version of the Multidimensional Work Motivation Scale (MWMS) and to study the psychometric properties of the instrument using data from 1,035 workers from three Mediterranean countries (Greece, Italy, and Spain). Self-determination theory introduces a multidimensional view of motivation and explains how the different types of motivation can be promoted or hindered. ![]()
